You are living my dream life... and that is a pretty decent cycling pace to boot.captainspoke wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 5:55 am Walked the dog this morning, maybe 30-35min, then breakfast. Went for a ride, came to 25km/85min, but towards the end met a friend down at the river and we sat in the shade and talked for a while. Back home for a shower, late lunch, some laundry. Was thinking of a nap but then had some coffee. I'll take the dog out again before dinner, wife is cooking tonight. I play with photography some, a long time hobby--a shot of a flower I passed on the ride:

I do administration at a private university.
I did teach at university as assistant prof for a while, but it didn't look like I was going to be able to break out of the 5-year contract cycle and I wanted the permanent contract stability.
Lots of higher ed people here.

Teaching English in the mountains of Hida. Small groups and private students in a small classroom at home. Only do around 15 contact hours a week, which leaves plenty of time for cycling/walking/household chores (missus works full time).

Salaryman, middle management level, at one of Japan's larger megacorps. Being a Japanese company, we get bounced around from position to position every few years, so I don't really have a specialty or "occupation" per se, just a generalist I suppose.
