Can unemployment insurance be backdated?

Around 2022 I was unemployed for about 4 months. I didn't think about it at the time, but it seems I could havel claimed on my employment Insurance. Does anyone know if this is backdated at all?

I don't think so. Claiming unemployment benefit is a fairly involved process. You have to physically visit the Hello Work office to check in, prove you are looking for work, etc.
