Outbox (for private messages)

For Hotmail, there is a 'draft' place for written but unsent messages.

What is the purpose of the 'outbox' for this forum?

The last couple messages I wrote are sitting in the outbox, and not showing 'sent', so I am not sure what to do.

It means the person hasn't read the message yet. It'll go into sent when they do.
