Seems normal for someone/a business that feels they have enough work, and don't want to deal with new people that might not be a good fit.

Feb-March is also busy season for accountants, with preparations for the end of the tax year. Maybe that is why they said it?
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
