Has anyone seen a source for what will happen to kyousai nenkin payer's iDeCo contributions next year?
Will they remain at 20,000 yen a month, go up to 27,000 in line with the other increases, or match the kosei nenkin 62,000 yen a month?

No, that is just one subgroup. It is all public servants, teachers, doctors, etc. They used to have kyosai nenkin before it was merged into kosei nenkin, and are still treated slightly differently.

Ah, sorry. That makes more sense since you were at a public uni and you were in it.RetireJapan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:24 am

It used to be a lot more lucrative than kosei nenkin, if I understand correctly.

Yep. The public didn't like that very much, which is why it was merged with kosei nenkin. There is a very small extra pension from the kyosai now, but there is not much in it.beanhead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 2:17 pmAh, sorry. Not really. Basically certain groups are members of a kind of union (mutual support organization) so are treated as a separate group when it comes to accessing certain benefits (largely health insurance and pension, but also things like iDeCo).david wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 2:44 pmThanks!
