SBI Sumishin Net Bank start charging for card withdrawals

From 1 Dec 2024, it's free using the app at 7 Eleven or Lawson, but not via card. No longer free anywhere else.

This is a poor decision in my opinion as the card works 100% of the time, but a smartphone can lose battery/connection, the app is often under maintenance, etc.

This is the 2nd time they have annoyed me, the first was when they started putting popup ads on the transaction history page in the app (so I stopped using the app to check transactions). The pessimist in me is waiting for an ad next time I try to take out money... If that happens I'll be looking for another bank - but I suspect they're all quite similar.

I got this message recently as well. Still haven't tried the app ATM so I'll have to wait and see how it goes. It would be nice to remove a card from the wallet.
