Re: SBI ideco advice for reallocating
That means starting over and i’m pretty locked in on this one. Just not sure which of the global + JP and global only funds have good record/low fees. I can research but also hoping to get some more anecdotal tips here.

SBI ideco advice for reallocating
Hi. Any experienced users of SBI ideco original plan? I checked my allocation and remembered that 80% of monthly contribution is for UD indexes. These have been taking a battering. I’m looking to reallocate into a more balanced global index, like emaxis slim all country, But that’s not available and...

Re: shinsei start up yen deposit
Thanks.
So it’s a locked-in account where you can’t access funds for the duration. Is that right?
Either 3 months at higher rate or one year at lower rate.
Can’t you just do the 3 months first then transfer into a 1 year one?
After the year it reverts to a no(low) interest account?

This seems like an option for getting >1% interest in Japan.
I can’t work out what the terms are or if there are any catches, since it’s so much higher than usual (for Japan).
Any one using this? Any thoughts?

Re: Ideco Contributions increase
I have a monthly ideco payment of 68,000 yen as a freelancer payment my own kokuminnenkin. Use SBI shoken and want to apply for the new increased limit (75,000 yen). Can any SBI user help direct me through the App to the online application or the link to access forms needed to apply? Thanks!

Re: Selling Gold in Japan
Thanks, that’s useful. Profit is well over that threshold but hopefully I can benefit from that. Will let my tax accountant work it out when the time comes.
Wouldn’t recommend gold as an investment but I did get lucky over the last couple years!

Related question.
I bought gold on Rakuten shoken. Value went up and made a good profit when I sold it. Do I need to declare this at tax filing time? If so is it taxed at same rate at capital gains? Or taxed at income tax progressive rates?

Very specific question - hope someone can help! I am British, living in Japan but paying into the UK National Insurance voluntarily (Class 3). Re: Pain Medication in Japan
For chronic back pain/knee and shoulder injuries I have generally been prescribed NSAIDS as usual here (loxonin being the local favorite) but I found Naproxen worked better for me, with 'mucosta' (Rebamipide) to help protect the stomach. If you aren't being precribed Rebamipide with NASAIDs, that's ...
