Re: Japan Crypto Exchanges
Going back to previous question, bought bitcoin at BitFlyer Japan, moved it to crypto.com where exchanged it to other Alt Coins I also do not see Crypto as an investment, but a gamble. Considering the possible outsized returns, I put a small amount that I am prepared to lose in it. I can confirm Bi...

Re: Pros/cons/differences between index fund vs ETF
Maybe some confusion as to 'fee'? On the one hand, there may be no purchase/sale fee (no 'load' in US terms). On the other, there is what I would call an expense ratio (or management fee, perhaps including the 12b-1 fee in US terms). Yearly, and ongoing. Yeah, could be. But the gold fund he mention...

Re: Pros/cons/differences between index fund vs ETF
I have been going along with the generally top-rated or low expense mutual funds for a few years now and found they are convenient with the auto-purchasing for automating finances. But I finally happened to discover late here now that there are rough equivalent ETFs that seem to be hands down no con...

Can you start a new thread for Canadians? Crypto in Japan is classed as Miscellaneous Income. What specific issues do you face as a Canadian? Everything went well. I paid a hefty tax bill and received a bit back 8 months after filing because I paid too much. The misc. income ended up being taxed so...

Re: Japan Crypto Exchanges
Looking back on it, I was driven by enthusiasm. That has a since evaporated. I think it is important to ask the fundamental question again "What problem does it solve". What is its use case? NFT serve no real function outside of speculation. Meaningless hype, and god awful art. Blockchain...

Re: Buy land, build later. Thoughts?
The build process sounds like a wedding x 1000 though in terms of choices and decisions over the course of 2+ years. One anecdote I have heard from a friend of a friend is that the lady ended up just saying "I'll take whatever you recommend for the garden." I hated this for our renovation...

Pretty sweet idea if it's a dream location/land spot I think. The build process sounds like a wedding x 1000 though in terms of choices and decisions over the course of 2+ years. One anecdote I have heard from a friend of a friend is that the lady ended up just saying "I'll take whatever you re...
