Re: Phone provider
I also switched to Aeon mobile after going from AU to Ymobile then to Aeon mobile. Ymobile will be cheaper then the big three (AU, Docomo, Softbank) but a MVNO will be even cheaper. People are always amazed when I tell them my monthly mobile bill is less than 2,000yen a month and they are paying ove...

Re: Sending money to Japan with Transferwise
Ah okay :) my understanding was that they would send from their transferwise account to my transferwise account in Japan. I see how it works now. Thanks for clearing that up. When I contacted them, they got back to me within 24 hours like they said they would and my follow up email was replied to wi...

Re: Sending money to Japan with Transferwise

Cheapest way to receive money in Japan from abroad
Looking for the cheapest way to receive money in Japan? A friend of mine sent me 10,000yen. My bank took 4,000yen out of that for the privilege of using their bank
So if time is not an issue, what would be the cheapest way to receive money? The cost of sending it is not important.

Re: Sending money to Japan with Transferwise
Does it cost money to receive money through TransferWise? Do all banks on general charge to receive money from abroad? My local bank charges me 4,000yen to receive the 10,000yen from a friend in Australia ><
Aeon Bank
Hello all, I see Rakuten and SBI seem to the preferred banks to go with when opening an IDECO but am wondering is there any obvious reason not to go with Aeon Bank? I have been using Aeon services more and more over the years, credit card, mobile phone and recently opened a bank account with them an...
