Aeon Bank

Post by Galway Dave »

Hello all,

I see Rakuten and SBI seem to the preferred banks to go with when opening an IDECO but am wondering is there any obvious reason not to go with Aeon Bank?

I have been using Aeon services more and more over the years, credit card, mobile phone and recently opened a bank account with them and loving the free furikomis and their iDeCo seems just as competitive as Rakuten's. I believe RetireJapan is also a fan of their mobile phone service so just wondering is there any reason not to open an iDeCo with them?

Good question! You can see the Aeon Bank lineup of products here: https://www.dcnenkin.jp/search/product. ... w&item=71a

Seems reasonable :)

I guess it depends on whether you only want the iDeCo account or you want to open other accounts at the same time.

Looks like a fine choice to me. It seems like the Tawara no-load funds would be the obvious choice if using Aeon. I've not looked into them in detail, but they seem very reasonable at first glance. The My Balance and Target Year series could also be useful, but I'd want to check the fees in detail before considering those.
