Summary: Rakuten allows users (with a Securities account) to use their super points to purchase domestic (Japanese) stocks as of Oct 2019. Since 2017 it has been possible to convert super points into investment trusts (I have not looked at what the investment trusts are, or what they cover.

Personally I am intrigued to see if this works the same way that in the USA you can convert AMEX points into a Schwab cash investment accounts.
