Hi all, new here! This is a great resource, thanks to all that have posted so far.
I have a question about standard life insurance in japan.
Are there any cases in which you die and they wouldnt pay out? For example you died commiting a criminal act, or die from suicide.
Not planning either but my japanese isnt good enough to read the small print or ask these questions in a subtle way to an agent/ finacial advisor.

Re: Life insurance payout exceptions
According to this link, they would not pay if: the initial period isn't over (1-3 years) and you committed suicide, they judged that you only took out the policy in order to commit suicide, or in the case of criminal behaviour (like drug use?).
