Hello all. This is a two-part question.

I was looking to use a portion of my Rakuten NISA growth to buy the dip on this:

But Iiuc, there will be a minimum 20 hour lag (assuming you order just before 3pm, no holidays) between when you place your order and when it is fulfilled, meaning that the price they charge you will likely be different than what was displayed? So buying in a volatile market, for example might get ripped off.

Second question. I was interested in speculating with a small portion of my growth NISA. Iiuc, the only S&P 500 type offering that allows real time trading (to avoid the above issue) in Japanese yen (to avoid FX fees) would be this ETF:

Iiuc, both of these offerings will roughly track the S&P 500, but will in fact be slightly different due to yen/dollar exchange fluctuations? Is this all correct so far? Also why is the UI different on this second offering?

Not sure how to edit here, so I'll put an additional question here:

I’m guessing you could estimate tommorows price on Rakuten by calculating todays NAV, current NY price, and yen/$ movement? But I’m not clear on how accurate this would be and what time frame it’s going to work in.

Keep in mind that the NISA is not designed for short term trading. If by "speculating" you mean investing in some volatile or niche fund for the long terms that could work well in a NISA but if you mean buying and selling shares over several months to catch price moves then this would not work well in a NISA because of the delay in being allowed to recover your yearly contribution limit.

This depends on how likely the OP is on actually filling the yearly quotas of course.
