Hi all,
Does anyone know what the current income threshold is for spousal tax deduction? Has the government decided to raise it in the future and if so, to what level?
Say a spouse earns 100,000 yen more in annual income than the threshold, thereby not being able to get the spousal tax deduction. And say the spouse invests more than 100,000 yen of that income in iDeCo during the year.
Does anyone know if it's possible to lower the spouse's effective income to under the income threshold for spousal tax deduction in that way?
Is it possible to qualify for the income tax deduction by investing part of the annual income in iDeCo if the income is just over the threshold?

Sorry for the huge delay, I just found this article that seems to say yes, that is possible: https://fpcafe.jp/mocha/225
I would probably check with the tax office before going for this though
