Documents via post to international pension centre uk.

Post by AlanJH »

Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody has sent any mail from Japan to uk pension office ( change of address etc ).
If so, did you mail it out with basic postage or did you do tracking send and sign system?
I wasn't sure if there was anybody there to sign or not.
Many thanks

Send it Registered Post.

You don't want them to lose it.

But expect not to hear back for a year or more...

This is the address I used when sending my application by registered post for voluntary state pension contributions:

PT Operations North East England
HM Revenue and Customs
BX9 1AN
United Kingdom

It does indeed take a considerable amount of time to hear back from them, and when calling them, be prepared to wait on the phone for 45 mins to an hour. They received my application on the 1st Mar 2023, and up to this point, I haven't received anything. Despite being informed by the staff that a letter was sent to my address in Japan in mid-January, two months have passed, and there's still no sign of any correspondence from the HMRC. In fact, I just finished speaking with them over the phone; the gentleman who took my call assured me that he would get a caseworker to look at it again since I did not receive the letter.
