Any tax deductions available for prep at home for part-time jobs?

Hi all,
I'm guessing the answer is going to be No to the above, but thought I would ask on the off-chance. Have had a look through the forum but couldn't see this exact question answered.
I work part-time for 3 universities and wonder if I can claim any deductions from my tax for work expenses related to the lesson prep, grading and so on that I do at home: rent, utilities, equipment, etc. I'm paid as and declare my income as 給与, which a colleague told me disqualifies me from claiming for any work-related expenses, but wanted to check if this is true.
Thanks very much in advance for any help,
Adam
