Applying for a second credit card straight after receiving another one good idea?

I just applied for, and was accepted for an ANA Gold card through SMBC. Great. I also want to apply for a Rakuten Premium card for the airport lounge access (the card comes with priority pass). I already have a 'standard' Rakuten credit card with a substantial monthly usage history which has always been paid off in full every month. I also have a pretty good salary so should have a solid credit rating.
How does credit rate scoring work? Is it possible that because I've just applied for a credit card through ANA that even though I was accepted it might be harder to get an additional card so soon after the first application? I.e. should I wait before applying to Rakuten or does it not make much difference?

I haven't had trouble getting approved for several credit cards in a short period of time. You should be fine with just two.

Thanks for your reply Ben. Good to know! I will go ahead and apply then.

Applied and received for Amazon, SMBC and Rakuten Premium (already have another Premium family card with Rakuten), all within the past 4-6 months. No issues.
Also created an account with Rakuten bank (just for some points), and they were asking if I would like to apply for another CC with them.
I think there should be no issue.

Brilliant thanks for your input, it was helpful
Update on my end, I went ahead and applied for an ANA Gold and Rakuten’s Premium card, approved for both. Now will apply for a ViewCard as it’s my understanding it’s the only credit card that has a Suica auto recharge function which I use for the subway a lot.
