Well, well, well... one for the plus/pro column: I think asset managers like banner/argentum are separate from banks & brokerages. Maybe they should update their web pages with that factoid.

Of course it would be even better if someone like Bogle could come along and make an organization that genuinely exists for the benefit of the fund investors rather than the fund mangers. I'm not even sure if that's possible in Japan.

Yeah, the US or UK would never have that! I mean, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Bank of America, Deutsche, Macquarie etc would never have asset management subsidiaries!
