Does anyone have experience with inheriting Australian property as a Japanese tax resident? While I don’t expect your specific details, I would appreciate you sharing the tax implications, especially on the Japanese side where capital gains tax and inheritance taxes are likely.

I also understand that there are local tax and law firms which deal with inheriting foreign property. If anyone could recommend someone from their experience - or advise who to avoid - that information would also be most welcome.
