If anyone is interested in getting together to forming some kind of Tokyo (around Shinjuku) Retirees Group, get in touch. The idea would be to have some in-person meetups somewhere in that area.

I'm not there, but might be thru now and then, and it might be nice to both say hello and also expose you and any others around there to how a non-tokyo retiree lives.

Also, since you're new, no PMs? I'm not sure if that limits only what you can send, or also what you can receive?

I would be interested (live in Minato-ku).

We are planning our first get together for 11am Monday, 25 September. The venue will be the Shinjuku Multicultural Plaza, about a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku station (English map in the link below.) During this meeting we discuss the future of the group including topics those attending want to cover in future meetings. If you have friends you think will be interested, bring them along. Hi all,

I am still 5 months away from my retirement, so joining during the day is a bit difficult.

I am interested though, to meet people, as building up relationships in this country has been proven to be difficult. I live with my (Japanese) wife, and we are very close. However, I miss the “guys talk”, a beer and a laugh.

By the way, I am Dutch and my home is in Ichikawa-shi, 3 minutes from Toei Shinjuku, Soubu and Keisei line. Is there anyone in this area?
