Has anyone had experience of sponsoring the working visa of a non-Japanese employee?

Just wondered how complicated it is. Any info or tips?

(We have a K.K.)

My understanding is that in Japan we don't 'sponsor' visas. We provide evidence that we are offering a job to them as an employer in good standing, and this allows them to apply for a working visa.

My wife has done this a number of times as a sole proprietor. It is relatively straightforward, at least for Specialist in Humanity visas.

We had to provide some paperwork showing that she has been paying taxes, details about the activity of her business, and the applicant had to fill out some paperwork.

Only have experience as an applicant, but the website is quite comprehensive.

Checking this, I see they've added automatic machine translation, removing all their rather good English content in the process 😓

Much progress! Very modernity.
