Monex Aplus Credit Card - Requesting Residence Card

I received a mail from this credit card requesting copies of my residence card.
The mail is in Japanese and in poorly punctuated English. It asks me to click a link and then enter an ID number and birthday I'm 90% sure it's just a badly composed mail and not a phishing attempt. Just wanted to check if anyone else has received this before.
Thanks for your time.

I got a letter from MUFG asking for a copy of my zairyu card, which confused me because I don't have an account with them.
Then after a while I realised it was probably due to a credit card they issued me on behalf of ANA.
Threw the letter in the bin. So far so good.

I'm tempted to ignore it. Guess just wanted to see if anyone else who has this card had received this request. It looks quite similar to examples of phishing emails they show on their website.

I'm not a fan of this mission creep with businesses deciding they 'need' to get paper copies of zairyu cards every few years

I just use this card and have not received such a request. Upon checking my spam folder though, I see several phishing attempts over the last couple weeks trying to fool people into thinking it's Aplus. If it is a legitimate request, there should be a notification after you log in to the real site. And always check the URL's in any email before clicking, it's usually a dead giveaway.

I got one of these requests for the first time from a credit card company. MUFJ NICOS.
I called them to ask some questions:
1) Do you send this letter and form to Japanese customers as well?
A) No, just non-Japanese (of course)
2) Am I legally obliged to send you this info?
A) No. (eventually, after much checking with the supervisor)
3) Will you cut off my card if I don't send this form back?
A) No.
The agent tried to qualify this answer and say not immediately. I pushed her a bit and she said if the law changes and it becomes required, then I would have to comply. I am not a lawyer, but I thought this is a fairly obvious point
Anyway, so she confirmed what I thought, which was that this is their policy, rather than law. And that they will not enforce it.Each company is different, though, so I guess we should all keep an eye on the fine print of those letters.
