When can my daughter start NISA.

My daughters is graduating from high school in March.
I wonder when she can start Tsumitate NISA.
She is 18 going on 19.
Does it go by age (18) or when they graduate from High school?

Do we know if the new NISA will replace the junior NISA? Can parents open a new NISA account on behalf of their children and contribute?

No. There will be no tax-free account for minors. The FSA tried for it, but were shot down by lawmakers.
This is the last year. I strongly suggest opening it.

From Jan 1st this year, 18 year-olds can open their own securities accounts, and also open NISA accounts:

Understood, thanks you. Shame though, I think it was a fantastic scheme for future-proofing your children’s retirement.
