UK Version of Rakuten and Emaxis All Country

Post by SOT »

Hi everyone,

I think the subject may give away what this is about!

I'm living in Japan and started investing largely based on this website (thanks to all involved), but would like to encourage my brother, who lives in the UK, to do the same.

Does anyone know what would be alternatives to Rakuten Shoken and Emaxis All Country in the UK?

When I speak to him I'd like to have some concrete examples to pass on.

Apologies for the non-Japan related post!

The best global indexes would be (IMO).

FTSE -> All Cap (Rakuten Global Equities - Vanguard)
MSCI -> ACWI (Emaxis Slim All Country)

Find the lowest cost, ETF with high inflows and decent assets under management that accurately track one of these indexes.

Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.

I'd go for the Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund.

You can get it directly from Vanguard as a broker.

And he should put it in an ISA of course :) £20,000/year tax protected with no fixed term. Envious...

Will have to look into that too.

I think I'm taking more of an interest in his finances that he is!
