My Number 20,000 yen of points campaign

Post by Roger Van Zant »

I applied for the 20,000 yen worth of points last week, and completed steps 1-3 below.
I chose my Rakuten card as the "cashless option" to link my account to.

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the points?
Are they just added to my card as "Rakuten points"?
Do I need to do anything else?

The points are awarded as below:

1) Apply for My Number points = 5000
2) Use My Number card as your health insurance card = 7500
3) Link a bank account = 7500

Total = 20,000 yen worth.

It takes a few days but as long as you did all the steps (including doing the IC scan of your MyNumber card) then it shouldn't be a problem

The first 5000 will take longer, 3 months or so. First you need to spend 2 man on the card. That is the old campaign

The other 15000 will accumulate at a specific time of the month, I think it is the 23rd of each month?

This 2 man is cumulative or a one-time spend?

I applied for the 15,000 point on June 30th I believe and got the points (on PayPay) 3 days later.
I had already registered My number card for both healthcare and bank account months ago.

Does anyone know if you apply for a mynunber card for your kids, would you be able to get their 20,000 yen worth of points added to your own paypay account? Or you need to create another paypay account specifically for them in order to claim the points?

Just to update, I successfully received 15,000 Rakuten points (7500 for applying to use my My Number card as a health insurance card, and a further 7500 for linking to my bank account) on September 26th, so just over three months after applying. The remaining 5000 points I hope to get soonish, since I have now spent over ¥20,000 using my Rakuten credit card.

just trying to get these 20,000yen pts for myself and kids before the campaign ends and am using paypay..
looks like i have to charge the kids paypay with 20,000yen each to get the last 5,000yen..
dont really want to do this so was wondering:!

is there a way round this?
do the free points (15,000yen) they get count towards the 20,000yen pts if they charge it or not?
or can charged pts be transferred to a different paypay afterwards?(ie put in child acct then after charging to activate the 5000yen bonus pts, transfer the 20,000yen back to my paypay?
any ideas?
thanks
