Where to validate Wise debit card?

This is driving me insane!
Places where I tried but was unable to validate the card:

Starbucks, Lawson, 7/11, FamilyMart, Direx, McDonald’s….

What’s the point in having the card if you cannot use the damn thing anywhere?!

I'm mostly using mine for online payments, but I've used it at Mr. Max with no problems. Regular self-checkout and not touch-to-pay, which I haven't tried.

They say that it ‘might’ work at AEON, Family Mart, View-card and Daily Yamazaki; so I validated mine at the nearby Family Mart E-Net Atm and it worked. I didn’t withdraw anything, balance checking was enough to validate it.
Never tried the other 3.

I validated mine at 7-11 (a long time ago).

Had to do a PIN transaction first, which activated touchless.

I tried at a Family Mart earlier, but no joy.
It didn't give me the option just to check my balance; only to withdraw money.
It let me input my PIN code, but then declined to let me have any money, despite me just sending some funds to my JPY account the previous day.
It is starting to get really frustrating.

Will try a Daily Yamazaki tomorrow.

Just to update....
I finally found an ATM which would accept my Wise card, but I had to do this:

Select "Foreign Credit Card" on the first screen.
Select "Checking Account".
I was then able to see my balance and also withdraw cash.

It was an ATM inside an AEON supermarket, so I guess an AEON bank ATM.

Hopefully now I will be able to use my card anywhere.
