Well, I just managed to update the forum software and get everything up to the latest version.

Can't believe that worked! Lots of sweating and googling for the last hour and a half or so

Nicely done. I can confirm that the buttons look slightly different.

Apparently the reason the forum and site kept going down was because it was running on PHP5 (old forum software couldn't handle current version). But my host won't touch 3rd party add ons, so I had to update it myself... terrifying

It's now phpbb 3.3 and PHP 7.3, so should be good to go for a while. Feeling VERY proud of myself

I mean, I had to learn what FTP was and how to do it, among other things...
