Hello Work income when filing tax return

Thanks in advance for any replies ..

I am asking on behalf of a friend who took early retirement in Dec 2020 and was then able to collect Hello Work payments until about halfway through 2021 when a new job started paying enough to live on.

He will have to file his tax returns in the next few weeks because his new employer just deducts a flat rate and does not do any adjustments at the end of the year.

How should he handle the Hello Work income on his tax return?
Will Hello Work issue an income receipt (GenSenChoShuSho)?

Best,
MJC

The unemployment benefit from Hello Work is not taxed.
If your friend paid for monthly National insurance and National pension during his unemployment period (and he surely did), he can add these payments to his tax return in February/March in case he did not give these payment slips to his new employer and no year-end adjustment was done.
Here's one article talking about this: https://biz.moneyforward.com/tax_return/basic/1378/#i-2
