Question about NISA 2022 timing

Hi everyone,

Rather than waiting for 2022 to roll around, I invested the money set aside for 2022 NISA in my Tokutei account in the EMaxis Slim All County fund a few months ago. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about the best way of moving it across. I know I have to sell it in the Tokutei and buy it again in the NISA, and that there will be a few days of delay while I wait for it to go through. Would it be best to do it in one lump sum, or would it be better to dollar cost average (say for example 4 times 300,000 yen at different times), just in case the market soared in the few days I was waiting for the transaction to clear?

Cheers,
Andy

Timing will matter less because you are only at risk during the few days out of the market between selling the funds in your tokutei account and buying in NISA (if you have the 2559 ETF equivalent to that fund the time is even shorter I think). However in general the NISA account is better because it's tax-free so I would still want to maximize time in the market in the NISA account and so make the transition very early in January.

Thanks a lot for the response. I'll do a lump sum at the beginning of January then.
