Shintaro`s money story has a sister site!

All about time/term deposits -> https://bankdeposit-sfp.com/

Every country has there own term for these -> Term Deposit / Time deposit / certificate of deposit (CD) /Fixed deposit. There hopefully that makes this thread more searchable

SBJ銀行高金利定期預金キャンペーン実施中 1年0.25%、2年 0.30%、3/5年0.35%

Take that to the bank! ....and earn slightly more interest.

In all seriousness, why would people buy JGBs when banks are paying more?

The interfaces are a bit clunkier, but the following two sites offer convenient tables and summaries of the best time-deposit rates currently available:

定期預金の鬼
https://bank-deposits.net/

定期預金の金利の比較
https://www.woman110.com/200807/

BANK (Aozora Bank online) offers 0.2% for regular bank deposits, although there's no guarantee that rate will last, and for an online bank they're comparatively inconvenient (can't change smartphone numbers online, very limited number of transfers and withdrawals, authentication with a third-party app), but users do get a combined cash card/Visa debit card with good cashback.

I was thinking Turkey might be a candidate, but it seems Georgia is better.
Panama is also decent, and you might get your name on the Papers list someday!
