Hello everyone,
I am interested in investing my fun money in a company that is about to IPO. It is listed under the "new listings" page of the JPX, since it's already been approved.
The date of listing is set in late December. However, I have no idea how this kind of investing works since I have only ever invested in index funds. I would like to invest as soon as it's listed, but I wonder if that will be possible through Rakuten securities? Is there any way to place a buy order beforehand so the stock is automatically purchased as soon as it is listed?
Anyone with experience doing something like this who could give me an overview of the process?

Rakuten does not carry as many IPOs as SBI and Monex I believe.abeltoy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:25 am Hello everyone,

Go Here ->http://www.tokyoipo.com/top/iposche/index.php?j_e=E. Find which brokers will carry the IPO.
If you are interested in IPOs you probably want an account at many different brokers. You usually need to enter a lottery to buy shares.
Re: IPO Investing
Basically you have to apply beforehand, declaring how much you want to buy. If oversubscribed, you then hope you win the chance to buy.
I use Monex, but their page has a pretty good overview of how the process works: https://info.monex.co.jp/ipo/apply.html
as well as their selection process: https://info.monex.co.jp/ipo/lot.html

Re: IPO Investing
This is why IPO chasers usually have 3-4 securities accounts. There is no guarantee who will carry the IPO, or how many shares they will be allocated.
