IBKR - Interactive Brokers Japan - No Minimums/Maintenance Fees

Post by EmaxisSlim Cultist »

I think many of us are under the misapprehension that IBKR requires maintenance fees and requires a minimum deposit. I heard this mentioned at the 2021 Conference. This is no longer the fact.

Now filling your own tax return, and paying transfer fees are probably still a pain. However, it is probably a godsend to Americans? No nisa/ideco of course....

No trading commissions, either? Pressure from the competition.

It does not pay to be an active trader it seems. ETFs are usually free though, I cannot confirm that. It is probably best for my financial health that I remain unable to access the US Option market.

Not too recent, but looking at IB one time they were saying that their option loan rates were lowest among the majors. It looked significantly cheaper, at least the way it was presented. Tho as they say, that stuff is above my pay grade.
