Keeping a UK Bank Account as a non-resident - receiving new cards

For people that have been allowed to keep a UK Bank account as a non-resident.

How does the bank send you your new Cash/Debit card when it's renewed?

E.g. do they post it to your Japan address.

Anyone managed this with Barclays?

HSBC post it to my Japanese address

NatWest Bank send everything to my address here in Japan.

However, they closed my stockbroker account once they figured out I was in Japan.

Lloyds sent it by normal post- no recorded delivery or anything. About 15 years ago my debit card was stolen in the post and they went on spending spree in John Lewis buying carpets about 4000 pounds worth. Fortunately, Lloyds were on the ball and got in contact with me immediately. I didn't have to pay anything.

Halifax and Bank of Scotland used to send the cards via regular post, but they decided to stop after I didn't use them for more than a year. I believe it's possible to re-order via online banking, but I didn't try and ordered a Wise card instead for potential future visits to the UK / GBP purchases. The accounts are still open though.

Tesco Credit Card also posted, but are closing accounts of all non-UK residents at the end of this month.

John Lewis you say.. That might have been "carpet" rather than "carpets"

I pay my Class 2 via direct debit and I'm not wanting to risk messing that up. Will be fine to close once that's done with.
Although I'd probably prefer to receive the pension in a UK account for a few reason.
