One-time increase in contrib. amt. to Tsumitate NISA in Rakuten

Background Info
  • I set up a Tsumitate NISA earlier this year via Rakuten.
  • The monthly contribution amount is set quite low.
  • I've managed to save a few extra yen and I want to put those in the Tsumitate NISA.
Question
Am I right in assuming this ↓ is how I go about doing it via Rakuten?
  1. In the 増額設定 section, under the 訂正後の設定内容 heading, switch the する・しない option to する
  2. In the 増資金額 box that appears, enter in the amount of the increased contribution
  3. Check that the increased contribution goes through on the appointed day, then restore the する・しない option back to しない

Zougaku is for increasing your monthly contribution beyond the 33,333 because you started T-NISA in the middle of the year and have allowance to spare.

What you're looking for might be ボーナス

This is a one time thing and you wouldn't have to turn it off afterwards

Sorry to revive this thread. Just in case someone lands here in the future looking for the same information...

First, thanks zeroshiki. I was able to make an extra contribution a little while after the OP using the ボーナス function as suggested.

However, I have just now noticed that it's not a one-off thing. The ボーナス payment remains part of the 設定 unless it's switched back to しない after the deduction has been made. In my case, I set up the ボーナス payment for December 2021; it went through successfully, but I noticed a moment ago that a ボーナス payment remained in place for December every year.

So, if you want to make a lump-sum contribution just once, you have to do it using the ボーナス function as described above, but then switch it back to しない once you've confirmed the funds have been deducted.

I need to do the exact same thing in a couple of months, but I'm with SBI.
Good to know about the する・しない switch. I'll be sure to set it back after the bonus amount goes out.

I`m also considering making a bonus payment via Rakuten to my Tsumitate NISA.

I can see the choice for a month, however on which days of that particular month is the investment processed? Does it remain the same as the general Tsumitate NISA setting? Meaning if you have Tsumitate processed always on 7th, the bonus payment will also be processed on 7th?

That's right. It's deducted from your account on the usual day in a single transaction.

I have tried to set up the bonus payment, though the system did not allow me to claiming I would have exceeded yearly contribution.

Is Tsumitate Nisa yearly allowance counted from Jan to Dec or is it counted as one year from the month started (in my case I started in June, so it would be June to May)?

Hm, right, that`s what I thought so.

I have started in June with 33,333 JPY per month, so I shall still have a leftovr of 166,669 JPY. It even states so on the NISA page on Rakuten.

However, when I tried to set up a bonus payment for 80,000 JPY for a month of July, the system mentioned that a yearly allowance would be exceeded.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong here?
