I signed up for Rakuten Wallet on a lark, as I have a Rakuten securities account and Rakuten credit card and I have been completely ignoring Crypto-currencies for the last decade.

On the face of it Rakuten wallet is dead simple. With only 3 currencies traded Ether and the two main flavours of Bitcoin. You can also buy with R-points, and cash out with R-cash.

Rakuten Wallet Pro is a bit more complex and adds margin access with LTC and XRP. The interface is also much more customizable. The minimals are lower and the amount you can hold and sell is higher.

Now traders seem to say the spreads are too wide and the limit order/sales features are insufficient. I honestly would not know.

I can tell you I am the proud owner of 263 Yen of Ether bought with R-points held in Rakuten wallet with NO idea if I can transfer it over to Rakuten Wallet Pro. I am slightly intimidated by the PRO interface as I do not know how to TURN OFF margin and I do not want to accidentally make a spot purchase and end up in a margin call overnight.
