Delisting

So, a dummy question...

Rakuten is sending me that one of the ETF's I have a little bit in my NISA is going to delist early next year, the 1582 "iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF-JDR". Is there anything I need to do? Sell them now?

I've heard that all iShares ETFs in Japan are going to be delisted. You can either sell them yourself now, or they will force sell them and send you the proceeds when they get shut down. I guess it depends on whether you have a preference that they be sold in 2017 or 2018, for tax purposes or similar?

I'm just 4k under so that's not a big deal, didn't have much money riding there. Too bad they're in my NISA account, I was wondering if I could sell now, can I put something else in the NISA account instead then?

I really should have paid attention to all those corporate action announcements! It's a pity, 1582 was doing pretty well for me. Well I guess I'll need to find another emerging. Maybe I'll just put it in the rakuten-vanguard one.

From the looks of the black rock website, they're not delisting all etfs (they have a lot of them, and that would hurt them a lot I would say), but they are delisting their i-shares ETF/JDR series. At work now so I haven't read the whole page.

Confidence in the ETF's will go down for sure. Selling now, and of course immediately when I put a limit sell order, the price drops like 30 yen. Hopefully, it'll recover a bit so I don't lose the few yennies on the commission to Rakuten.
