What do you think of these Rakuten iDeco options?

Hello all. Approximately 6 billion years after first contemplating the idea, my iDeco account is now open. I went with Rakuten because [reasons], and my first contribution is this month - finally, I can move from thinking of a general strategy to looking at specific funds.

I don't have access to the eMaxis funds that many on this board love, but I do like the idea of starting out with just one or two balanced funds. With at least a couple of decades of investing ahead, I will start out with all equities (or 90/10 equities/bonds).

Oh, and if it matters, I'm not American and have nothing to do with the IRS.

So! With that in mind, could I ask your opinion of the following funds?

楽天・全世界株式インデックス・ファンド for a whole-world spread. Also, インデックスファンド海外新興国(エマージング)株式 for some emerging-nation weight, but am I right in thinking that at 0.3740% the fee is quite high compared to, say, たわらノーロード 先進国株式, where the fee is 0.1099%?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I would say don't try to be clever and just stick to the Rakuten Vanguard fund (your link is broken btw, correct link).

If emerging markets do take off, the relevant portions of the global fund will adjust to reflect that.

It keeps your costs down, and your portfolio as simple as it can get. Your ideco will be a zen temple of investment knowing you're invested in every publicly tradable company in the world. 😌

By the way, I often complain about that fund, since it's just reselling VT which you can buy directly (although not in an iDeCo). But one thing it has over emaxis slim all country is that it follows the FTSE global all cap index, which includes small companies. Emaxis slim all country follows MSCI ACWI, which doesn't include small cap.

Thanks for that, adamu.
I've edited the OP with some new links; I hope those work.

If anyone else has anything to add, please feel free.

Keep the iDeco simple IMO.

I am 100% 楽天・全世界株式インデックス・ファンド in my iDeco

100% Emaxis All Country in my Nisa.

More Emaxis All Country in my Taxable, and two very small bond funds.

Thanks, lads. I went with just 楽天・全世界株式インデックス・ファンド for now.

Having an account at one of the big 3 makes things easier/more affordable if you are using iDeco/Nisa/Taxable.

Monex-> Has Emaixis for Ideco, easy to setup

Rakuten -> Has Vanguard Wrap Mutual funds

SBi -> Similar option, Emaxis etc.

Do not go with a bank.

This Vanguard fund is very good and only 0.162% charge. It is US market, rather than the world, though.
楽天・全米株式インデックス・ファンド

たわらノーロード 先進国株式 (developed countries) is another popular option available with Rakuten. 0.109% charge.

Either are perfectly good alternatives to the eMaxis Slim All-Country, but if you want that then you can't get it with Rakuten iDeCo.
For me, the amounts are quite small at 23,000 per month, so the difference between the 'best' fund and another very good fund is negligible.
I am buying eMaxis Slim All-Country in NISA and a little in tokutei as well.

This fund is not available in Rakuten iDeCo.
The US Vanguard one is the only one they offer.
