Wondering if children, or "massive, lazy, smelly, money pits" as moneymatters so eloquently puts it, warrant a category on RJ.

If it were a separate forum, what kind of topics would go in there that don't fit in another forum?
And would there be enough that they would overwhelm the General forum?

All J-NIsa questions.
How to structure an investment that you will need to access in X-18 years?
Using a child's taxable investment account. -> Should we ever do this? Why?
Budgeting for school.
Insurance and health benefits.
What is a waste of money and what isn`t?

Not sure. (So not the most well thought out suggestion from me.)
But Kanto to the rescue:
All J-NIsa questions.

Using a child's taxable investment account. -> Should we ever do this? Why?
Budgeting for school.
And on to the second question:
And would there be enough that they would overwhelm the General forum?
My user experience is that I have some periods when I check and contribute to the forum frequently and some periods of hibernation. After hibernation, I catch up on threads in the smaller categories which are of interest, but am overwhelmed by the general one, and prob miss out on some stuff relevant to children. This may well just be me, and my hibernation habit might be fixable!

CHILDREN..
Wait. Are you saying it's not already an acronym!?
Costly
Headache
Inducing
Life
Draining
Ruinous
Exhausting
Ne'er-do-wells.
Although "True write-offs" might be more in the spirit of the forum.
Aside from those topics mentioned I can regale you weekly with amusing anecdotes. Such as their recent argument about who had to collect their Uber delivery from the genkan. When mum was out. (A true story.)

That sounds more like something for the wiki to be honest. Or a thread in the tax board with links.
