Hey everyone - can anyone explain the zougaku option (attached screenshot)?

I was trying to change my NISA instructions to get ready for the new year, and saw this option when editing my current purchase request plan.

(Not certain on this)

Isn`t this like the Bonus feature? A one-time increase?

Zougaku payments allow you to top up your regular tsumitate payments so that you can use your full 400,000 yen allowance. It's a bit different to the bonus which is a one time payment.

At that point, why not just cancel the reserve setting and remake it?

I suppose this is a convenience feature?

I guess so. If you start your account part way through the year and do a monthly tsumitate you won't fill up the 400,000 yen just with your 33,333 yen monthly payments. So you can either fill up the rest with a bonus payment or choose to increase your monthly payments through zougaku.

I tsumitate daily and for some reason there's always a little bit left over that I can top up with zougaku. I'm not sure why, but it might be to do with fund holidays.

Daily Tsumitate? Is this an extreme form of dollar-cost averaging?
