Hi, let's say I use a free trading platform to buy/sell stocks.

what is the rate I have to pay taxes?
the broker charges me nothing and just sends me letter I have to put when filling taxes.

I want to know how to declare them in JP. What is the tax rate, etc.

thank you

You'll need to declare capital gains and dividends to the tax office. Both are taxed at 20.xxx%.

The rate is 20.315%. Not aware of any other taxes or fees unless you hire an accountant to help you file.

You'll need to do a spreadsheet for all distributions--interest, dividends, quarterly distributions from funds, etc. And another sheet for trades, to show gains/losses.

For everything, you need to include dates, and for those specific dates convert amounts from whatever foreign currency to yen.

You can do this in advance of doing your own returns, or you can pay and an accountant will probably do that for you.

**The tax office, tho known to be helpful, will (understandably) not do this for you. ((unless you're being audited, in which case they'll be checking all of your numbers))

Is this a foreign trading platform of a Japanese one? I thought the Japanese apps provided tax-reporting accounts?
