U.K. Class 2 National Insurance to be abolished

Just in case you missed northSaver's post from page 2 (emphasis mine):

"Those with profits under £6,725 and others who pay Class 2 NICs voluntarily to get access to contributory benefits including the State Pension, will continue to be able to do so."

The link Beanhead posted above is from the Low Income Tax Reform Group (catchy name, eh?), and they suggest that maintaining the status quo for the like of us is an interim measure. That is supported by a footnote quoting the Autumn statement itself:

3.11.
Autumn Statement 2023, paragraph 3.11: “The government will set out next steps on Class 2 reform next year.”

The Tories will likely be nowhere near government next (well, this) year, but we don't know if Labour will be minded to do anything more. Might have enough on their plate tbf.
