I have size 30 feet and I find 27-29 too tight and too small. Hard to pull in and prone to tearing at the ankle over time. YMMV.

Great thread title! I recommend H&M which seems to have ample options for us freaks. (UK size 11).

Interesting. Perhaps feet width or body mass is a confounding factor. I have never experienced premature sock failure.

Cheap 'n' cheerful Shimamura does it for me. Have to burrow through the piles for a while to find the 27~29 but I've always managed to find some cotton-rich.

I've had great success with
Danish Endurance socks on Amazon... I run and train quite a bit and these socks last really well. They're comfy and the merino blend have been great during the winter. For skiing, skating etc. I've splurged and bought legit Smartwool socks and they're on another level!
