I'm doing extremely well lately. They say that everyone is a genius in a bull market, but I successfully timed BIDU, NIO and SOLO at the same time and I feel great about it. I also want in corsair, but I'm spreading myself pretty thin at this point. Might just go harder into NIO.

Does everyone here just deal with vanilla shares, or anyone also in options, etc? I'm considering (with play money only), but Rakuten's application screen for this really puts me off. Lots of scary walls of text ^^'.

Congrats great news! Quite a run up.

This market is strange and there’s unusual engagement. Lindsey Lohan (actress) tweeting Bitcoin to the moon, kids using Robinhood to day trade, $11B piling into the ARK fund as of 2021(!), people quitting jobs to day trade, the list goes on. When there’s unusual engagement, there’s usually unusual results. The market could double, that would be unusual. It could go sideways or down too.

I’m not forecasting anything, I can’t do that. I’m just happy you’re making a killing and I hope you keep all the earnings for a long, long time.

Indeed this market momentum is really strange, and while in several newspapers you can read several "market analysts" warning about a possible crash, there are many ordinary people that lately think they are professional investors because they make money out of any company they decide to pick up from the market (specially Nasdaq ones). I am amazed at some of these young people starting to broadcast in investment channels on video platforms like Twitch / Youtube, etc showing how easily they make money and how they double their money, while they do not really have deep knowledge about trading (technical analysis techniques like candlesticks, Elliott waves, etc). They do not even now how to use stop loss strategies, and on and on. And the problem is that many young people not having enough knowledge about economy or markets, they just follow them and put their money into the markets because as 'Ax6isB' pointed out the 'Stocks booming because with lockdowns people are just putting their money into investments?' viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1290&start=10 thread :
“Nothing so undermines your financial judgment as the sight of your neighbor getting rich.”—J.P. Morgan.
This reminds me of when Groucho Marx lost all his savings during the 1929 market crash.

After what I learnt in the previous crisis in 2007 about how making easy money release human greediness, I will just sit and wait eating a bag of pop-corn to see how this ends up. Of course, I still have my Tsumitate NISA and iDeCo monthly contributions with the eMaxis All Country and world bonds allocation, but that's all for now.

Absolutely. I think it also depends on where people are in their life/investment journey. If you are young and just getting started, jumping in and surfing some of these waves might be fun and profitable, as long as you are aware of what is going on.

For older people with more money, using some of their play portfolio to speculate might also be fun and profitable.

I just hope no one is taking risks they might later regret! Good luck all.

PLTR looking like a buy, but earnings are tomorrow so it's a little risky. But it's hard to imagine the price going down that much more.

Wanted to publicize my thoughts so I can say to myself "I told you so" when I don't actually buy in tomorrow evening.
