I have. I used getcars.jp as my agent and found them to be very helpful and they charged what seemed to be a low fee. I still have access to their online system which means I can search all the auction listings in the country and also see all the statistics on past prices for whatever make/model/mileage.
That certainly sounds interesting.
I'd better stay away from that auction site, or sooner or later, I'm going to find reasons as to why I need a new car.

getcars.jp seems to be an agent for people living outside Japan who want to have a Japanese car exported to them?

That's their main business, so that is how the website is geared, but they also offer domestic service. A person might need to email them to get the info on their domestic fee/terms.
