Thanks for that and a big congratulations to you. Concerned as I had a period of non-payment pre-2012 during my part-time (not studying pension systems) stage of my career. Hoping that 11 years of mutual aid payments should be enough now.

You're good!

They cannot "See" your record. They can only request you provide it. The period should not extend 3-4 year at present.

They cannot access any of your records (for personal security reason etc etc). That's why the process is so extensive.

Prepay and have zero gaps or late payments for 4 years and you should be golden.

I've always wondered how much immigration/MOJ has access to our data. Not PR but I remember when they made me list out all my addresses ever and I accidentally peeked at the MOJ guy's notes and he had even my room number from 15 years ago which I had forgotten so didn't write down. I guess pension might be a completely different thing but I wonder if they make us write all these things not because they don't have access to it but because they want to know how honest we'd be with it.

Definitely, this is the case for some things. But not pension and tax I believe. Those are separate fiefdoms of bureaucracy.

S would be paid monthly and P would be prepaid for the whole year.

So prepayment makes you look much more organized, financial stable, etc.

Make sure your prepay for the year of your application and the subsequent year if the application carries over.

This triggers memories of my (successful) application in 2020. Yes, instructions followed; yes, further details asked for. In my case my wife phoned the pension office/pension desk at the ward office (can't recall which) who supplied the requisite info for free via mail.

Hello everyone,

Quick question. I got a letter regarding my application. It says that my nenkin net screenshots do not show payment after February of this year. There seems to be a delay between payment of Shigaku Kyosai and the records of those payments showing up on the nenkin page. Just wondering what those who have been through this might suggest. Thanks.

Did you not see this when you screenshoted the info? I'm confused.

Wait for it to be reflected, or get an official record from the nenkins office in person (which is free).

What did their note say specifically?

I took screenshots on June 18. At that time February 2023 was the latest record of payment recorded on the site. Also submitted nenkin tekibin, this also is for 12 months finishing in February 2023.

They requested documents that show payments after February 2023, but they don’t specify which document.

If I were to use screenshots it seems that I would be constantly 3 months behind. Off to the nenkin office to see if they can help I guess. Just wondered if any other shigaku kyosai people had the same issue.

I would suggest prepaying for the year if you have the means. This would eliminate the issue.

Don't think you can do that with kosei nenkin (through a kyosai in this case). I found the same while I was at university. Kyosai nenkin was merged into kosei nenkin a few years ago, but it is still not seamless and data is not immediately available on the nenkin net site.

I would have thought the immigration office would be aware of that though :roll:
