They also call term-life colloquially as 掛け捨て (throwaway)

I bought it once, Axa (wife was anxious) but then started to learn about investing and found it is not a good investment. Portion of payments with gets invested was too small, don't remember exactly how much. Agent said you can get up to 100% back after 10 years under annual RoE of 7% iirc.
He also said that money savvy people would buy regular insurance and invest separately. At that time I didn't want to think about it so I spent 180,000 yen on it before I figured it out and cancelled the plan.
Actually is it worth to consider up to amount for which you get tax exemptions? Insurance part will be probably too low but a little more retirement money in addition to IDECO.
