It takes 3 business days to execute a trade.
If you have to sell and buy then it takes 5 or 6 business days.
If I place the order after 3pm today, the order doesn't get entered until tomorrow.
The price then gets set the following day
When the trade clears,
The price then gets set the following day
Then the trade clears...

In my experience, All Countries takes longer than the other funds, on the average it takes a full day longer than the S&P500.

Gotcha.
I am not trying to actually catch a daily bottom... I just feel a bit insecure on what to expect from the next few months, I am probably spending too much time on reddit, lol
I am setting aside some cash monthly, with the idea of "waiting and seeing", maybe until the end of summer or even the end of the year...
While I wait I should keep an eye at the index fund chart, trying to make sense of it.

What are you going to do if the market doubles by the end of the year, and you were waiting to see? Then you'll have missed out, and also be worried it's peaked out and be waiting for it to drop again.

Well... in that case, come January 2023, I will use the money I am setting aside to buy in full my NISA allowance for the year, like I did this time, and start the process again.
Either way, the money I am removing from my bank account every month will be invested, which is the goal; hoping to get lucky, being able to buy a large dip, makes it a little more exciting for me, I guess.

Blue line is the price of eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(オール・カントリ))
Orange line is the price including distributions reinvestments. eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(オール・カントリー) doesn't pay out distributions, so this line is invisible below the blue line.
Brown line is the average price of other mutual funds in a similar category. Rakuten's site might explain somewhere exactly what funds.
Green line is the total amount of money invested in eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(オール・カントリー). It increases as more investments come in over time, and fluctuates with the fund price.
None of the lines will look exactly similar to other US-denominated indices or funds. The blue line follows the MSCI all world index, yen denominated.
Thank you for the clarifications! Do I understand correctly that eMAXISslim is actually outperforming all other similar mutual funds? (Blue line being much better looking than the Brown line?)
eMAXIS Slim All Country is in Rakuten's 先進国・新興国株式(広域)-為替ヘッジ無し mutual fund category, i.e. wide area (developed + emerging nations) stocks, no currency hedge. The brown line is some sort of average of all funds in that category (there are currently
76).
I wouldn't read too much into the blue line being above the brown line currently. The funds in that category don't all cover the same countries, and they have different management costs and tax efficiencies. If you look at the eMAXIS Slim All Country graph full history, there are long times where the brown line was above the blue line as well.
What matters most is the fundamentals of eMAXIS Slim All Country are good. It is passive, highly diverse (worldwide stocks), low management costs and good tax efficiency. It is among the best in these respects among other funds in that category, which is why it is popular on here.

This is very true! That category is HUGE and there is a rotating list of yearly winners. Not a good comparison.

understood, thank you for explaining a bit more about eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(オール・カントリ))
I am not shopping around for other index funds or other stock investments...
even though I still like to play games with money, I like, very much, the idea of a single, no brainer, security destination for my "savings".
I guess that by sticking around here I'll find out if another index fund will replace the eMAXI slim all country as a people's favorite.

Rakuten is deigned to subtly push you towards their offerings, which often include high fees. Ignore the shiny object of the week, and stay with total market, low cost funds.
