Costco works with Maruki and Aruku grocery stores here in the Yamaguchi/Ube area. Every now and then they bring their best food stuff to the stores for a one day sale. It's a big hit for us locals since we'd have to go to outside of Kita Kyushu or Fukuoka to go to the stores. Our Christmas treat would go to Costco and spend about 400 bucks including the train ride. And yes, the hot dog or pizza too was included. LOL :D
Costco also has some kind of mini type franchise/not sure about this what its called, but them little outlets sell maybe what flying pig sells for. Its cheaper anyway to buy then to spend money for the train ride long distance. And now with the ----- virus at an all time high, we'd not be taking the train anytime soon.

Membership costs about ¥400 per month... I find it quite easy to get that level of value from Costco.

Ha! That's me and Mrs. Lemmings. We live near-ish to a Costco; we go every now and then, and usually end up buying nothing. She gets a hotdog and we head home. :)

If you sign up for a business membership it is about ¥500 cheaper. I made up some business cards in my private student teaching days and it worked for me, 10 years ago.
