I am fascinated by the Wall Street Bets phenomenon and the GME story is phenomenal with some of these redditors making millions on the trades. Since they started pumping BB as the next big thing I decided to throw a bit of fun money at it on Monday morning to see what happens (I am up a whopping 3% on the trade!). I fully expect to lose most of it but it is fun to watch. I guess I am getting bored in lockdown.

At least BB has a decent business model! I do not think it is anywhere near as risky as GME. The current price is fair value IMO.
BB is essentially a software solutions company at present. New investors are suddenly waking up to the fact that they are not primarily a hardware producer like the RIM of the past.

Even if you have no intention of buying GME, I think we are living through some really fascinating times. I think I'll move 30% of my play portfolio into it Monday, and set a limit sell at 100% profits. The big risk for us is that the shares take 2-3 days to arrive in our accounts, which is very long in the context of these events.
I couldnβt agree more about fascinating times. Not even 12 months ago we had a horrific crash proceeded by incredible growth. And now more people than ever are in the market. Itβs bonkers. Iβm sitting out this one but will watch closely. Good luck!

The WSB ETF
I bought $BB and Takeda (4502 on the TSE) as apparently ARK took a big position late last year. Actually this is first time I have ever bought individual stocks from Japan and I learned a couple things that surprised me: 1) Rakuten's USD exchange rates are awful and 2) most TSE stocks need to be bought in lots of 100 units which is super weird. I am looking hard at Upstart NASDAQ: UPST as a potential 3rd and final fun money buy.
Anyway

Similar portfolio in my fun/high risk distribution
BB 60 shares
GME 20 shares
AAPL 10 shares (I dont think I'll sell this anytime soon..)
This friday is gonna be nuts. SO many short contracts expiring. If GME is above 60, we may very well see one of the biggest explosions of a stock in my lifetime. Every day since Thursday we've seen numerous trading halts, followed by a huge downward trend or upward trend.

Not gamestop, but I noticed this in a separate article--not sure if that percentage is a typo:
Thousands of bullish Tencent options lost almost all their value, after some surged as much as 118,300% on Monday. The frenzy in derivatives trading pushed the cost of one-month Tencent options to the highest since March 2014 relative to those tracking the Hong Kong benchmark, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

I believe this was brought in to obstruct the Yakuza, who made a business out of buying one share and then rocking up to the shareholder's meeting and causing trouble until someone paid them to go away. If you have to buy 100 shares to get in, that reduces the number of thugs that can afford it
