Agree with Bushiman. Previous years are cheaper than current/future ones. Also they may change the rules in the future. Better to have your contributions made, then you can stop paying in voluntarily.
The only danger is if you return to the UK and then have to pay in through work, thus ending up overpaying, but personally I think that is a reasonable risk.
